I was job searching. I was cold-emailing. I wasn’t getting any responses. 

So I decided to do things in my own way and used Venmo to get the attention of recruiters and creative directors. I got responses. I was featured in Adweek. I got an accidental email from David Droga.

*Penny pokes are tiny charges that are sent on Venmo as gratitude to a friend, to say hello or to get the attention of a celebrity (Fortune, 2019)…recruiter, or creative director (Conniest, 2019).
